Minesweeper

Open every square that has no mine. Every board can be cleared by logic from the first tap, and an owl names the pattern behind the next safe square.

Minesweeper rules

  1. Open every square that has no mine. Your first tap is always safe.
  2. A number counts the mines in the eight squares around it, corners included.
  3. Flag a square you know is a mine: long-press it, or right-click.

Every board here can be cleared without a guess.

How to solve it

The count

A number with all its mines flagged: its other neighbours are safe. A number with as many closed neighbours as mines to find: they are all mines.

The 1-1 and 1-2

A 1 whose closed squares all touch a 2: the 2's other mine is in the squares only the 2 touches. A 1 beside a 1 on a wall works the same way, with no mine left over.

The total

Near the end, count the mines left. None left: every closed square is safe.
